HOLE IN ONE TWICE IN A ROUND YOUNG GOLFER’S FEAT MELBOURNE, Feb. 8. A young golfer, W. Reddrop, whose handicap is 14, holed in one twice in one round at the Royal Park links. Reddrop holed his tee shots at the fifth, 125 yards, with a No. 7 iron, and the ninth, 260 yards, with a driver. There is no record of a similar feat in the Southern Hemisphere. A. Duthie did two successive holes in one at Vancouver in 1911, and Mike Brady, in Massachusetts in 1914, holed in one three times in one round. According to The Golfer's Handbook the only time a competitor In a championship has holed in one twice in the same match was when Eric Fiddian (Stourbridge) performed the feat in the final of the Irish championshipon September 23, 1933. Fiddian performed the feat at the seventh hole in the first round and the fourteenth hole in the second round. He was beaten, 3 and 2.
