WANGANUI v. TARANAKI I WIN FOR RIVER CITY I ' WOMEN DECIDE THE ISSUE I • I | The tenth annual match between Wanganui and Taranaki was played at Hawera on Saturday and, thanks to the performance of the Wanganui women, the visiting team was successful. Wanganui has now won seven of the ten matches played. The courts were in good order and playing conditions were good. Wanganui women players won five singles and three doubles matches out of the pine in which they were solely engaged. Four of the mixed doubles also went to Wanganui. I A decisive win by eight rubbers to (four in each case was gained by Canterbury in the Anthony Wilding Memorial Shield and Kathleen Nunnerley Casket matches against Wellington.
