ARAMOHO BOATING CLUB SPRINT FOURS. GURR'S CREW WINS FINAL. Boisterous conditions again prevailed for the sprint fours held by the Aramoho Boating Club on Saturday afternoon last. In spite of the inclement conditions racing was of a I very high standard and very close racing resulted. The details of the racing are as follow : Firmin defeated Stowers by 2 feet. Sleyer defeated Jones by half a length. Gurr defeated Laird by one length. Gurr defeated Sleyer by three-quar-ters of a length. I Final.—Gurr defeated Firmin by ' one and a-quarter lengths. J The personnel of the winning crew was: R. Gurr (st.), W. Dearsley (3), T. Sweet (2), A. Brougham (bow). Club Pair-Oar Trophy. Racing for the first round of the Aramoho Boating Club's Pair-Oar Trophy will commence at 6 o’clock this evening:— C. Stokes rows T. Sweet. A. Brougham rows L. Sleyer. H. Stokes has the bye. WANGANUI CLUB SPRINT FOURS RESULTS. The Wanganui Rowing Club's series of sprint fours races was continued on Saturday under rather boisterous weather conditions. Some splendid races were witnessed. The winning crew consisted of M. Paul (str.), L. Northover, M. Breed, R. Grant. This puts Paul in the lead for the points prize, having 9 points.. He is closely followed by R. Grant and L. Northover with 71 points each.
