ONE-DAY MATCH DRAWN CENTURY FOR LOCAL MAN Received Dec. 28, 11.50 p.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 28. The Englishmen began and ended their match against Northern Districts at Newcastle to-day. The weather was again uncertain and play was interrupted by a couple of showers. The wicket was covered over the week-end and was in fair order. The Northerners won the toss, batted, and closed their innings at four for 188, a feature being the bright, chaneeiess 124 of R. Beattie. The Englishmen had lost four for 178 at stumps.
