CANADIAN PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIP
WITNESSED BY 100,000 PERSONS. (By Mail.) Upwards of 100,000 persons attended in four days the international ploughing matches held at Cornwall, Ontario, and saw the exhibits of farm machinery under 16 acres of tents. More than 600 ploughmen participated in the various classes, and among the spectators interest was extremely high. The major prize, a trophy donated by Mr. R. B. Bennett, formerly Prime Minister of Canada, was won by Alex Black, of Guelph, Ontario, who was the winner at last year's matches. Mr. Black thus holds his place as international ploughing champion. His furrow was the straightest and cleanest, and his performance generally of high merit.
