CHERISHED BRITISH IDEALS j Per Proas AssociaLiun. j NEV/ PLYMOUTH, Dec. 13. "These past few days have been extraordinary tor all British people," said Rev. E. P. Blamires, president of the New Zealand Methodist Church to-night. "How thankful we should be that as a commonwealth of nations we could pass through this crisis trusting on the over-ruling providence and under God lhe wise leadership of Mr. Baldw.n. Recently Mr. Baldwin remarked that the work of Prime Minister was the loneliest job in the world. He has certainly borne his solitary responsibility with rare understanding and courage. We shall endeavour to fulfil the hope expressed by King Edward that the course which he has thought it right to follow is that which is best for the stability of the Throne and the Empire and the happiness of the people. We Methodists will accept our share of responsibility for promoting national unity and our loyalty to the Throne is unabated. Perhaps the greatest value of this momentous event is that all the world should know the ideals for domestic life which are cherished throughout the British realm."
