LEAGUE RESOLUTION

CO-ORDINATION URGED [ British Offic al Wireless. ] RUGBY, Dec. 13. The League of Nations Council adopted unanimously at Geneva a resolution which recommends the members of the League represented on the Non-intervention Committee to spare no efforts to render the nonintervention agreement as stringent as possible and to ensure effective supervision. The rcf.c.ution also expresses sympathy with “the action which has just been taken on the intei national plane by the United Kingdom and France with a view to avoiding the dangers which prolongation of the present state of affairs in Spain is causing to the peace and good understanding between the nations.” The Council notes that there are problems of a humanitarian character in connection with the present situation with regard to which coordination of action of an international character is desirable as soon as possible, and recognises that in the reconstruction which Spain may have to undertake, international assistance may also be desirable, and authorises the Secretary-General to make available the assistance of the technical services of the League should a suitable opportunity occur.
