New Zealand prime ox beef, 150/2201b., 3id per lb. Compared with last week’s quotations wethers under 561 b. id per lb. higher; 56/721b. l-8d per lb. higher. Ewes l-8d per lb. higher. The market generally is steady. The mutton market is strong. Lamb: Larger supplies have caused prices to weaken. Wethers: The market is short of supplies; prices nominal. Ewes: The demand is improving, but prices are practically unchanged. Chilled beef: The market is steady. Pork: The advance in prices has checked the demand. Trade generally is quiet. terday by Henry S. Fitter and Sons, Ltd., from their London office, which quotes current prices as follows: New Zealand lambs, 2’s, 7id to 7 5-8 d; B’s, 63d to 7d; 4’s, 6 3-Bd. to 6id. Secondary lambs, not quoted. New Zealand mutton, small, 4 7-Bd. to sid; large, 3id to 4 5-Bd. New Zealand ewes, small, 4d to 4 3-8 d; large 3 3-Bd. to 4d. New Zealand beef ox. hinds (frozen), 3 5-Bd. to 3 7-8 d; fores, 25-8 d to 23d. Dominion chilled hinds, 51d to s?d; fores, 3d to 3id. South American chilled hinds, 53d. to 6id; fores, 31d to 3id.
