New Zealand prime ox beef, 150/2201b., 3id per lb. Compared with last week’s quotations wethers under 561 b. id per lb. higher; 56/721b. l-8d per lb. higher. Ewes l-8d per lb. higher. The market generally is steady. The mutton market is strong. Lamb: Larger supplies have caused prices to weaken. Wethers: The market is short of supplies; prices nominal. Ewes: The demand is improving, but prices are practically unchanged. Chilled beef: The market is steady. Pork: The advance in prices has checked the demand. Trade generally is quiet.
