PERSONAL Mr. S. Lewis, who is attending lhe Training College. Wellington, has returned home for the summer vacation. Mr S. A. Mclndoe, Crofton Road, left on Saturday night for a fortnight’s holiday in Auckland, lie then proceeds to Rotorua for a further week. Miss Rachael Mawhinney, of Patea. a young lady who gives promise of being prominent in the musical world, is staying in Marton as the guest of Miss Betty Sicely. Miss Mawhinney is the leading soprano in the Auckland Varsity Music Club. She is the pupil of Dr. Phillips for singing and of Professor Hollmrake, of the Auckland University, for pianoforte. Miss Wawhinney is also an accomplished violinist. She is an old girl of the New Plymouth Girls' High School. INTER-CLUB TEX XIS A home-and-home match between the St. Andrew’s and Marlon Lawn Tennis Clubs was played on Saturday. St. Andrew's A. playing a Marton team for the Wanganui Association's C grade competition on the Marton courts. The games were exceedingly close, one match going to 17 15. On the final count.
