Commons to-day the President of the i- Board of Trade announced that the e trade negotiations with Argentina had e now been concluded and that the provisions of the new agreement had e been settled. e Mr. Runciman said that the agreement, which was being prepared for I- signature, would take effect provisions' ally, pending exchange of ratifica- >- tions, as from November 20. i- The text of the agreement will be e published as a White Paper as soon i- as possible after signature. t The Daily Mai! reports that tho agreement will he retrospective e from November 20. It provides r ] for a duty of three-farthings a lb. L on beef and veal with a 20 per 0 cent ad valorem duty on tinned s meat, and reduces the total meat I imports. There will be no duty on mutton or lamb and no reduc[j tion until a discussion by the Imperial Conference. s It is understood that the Argent tine will maintain the preference • I on British industrial products y J and exchange facilities will be I eased with advantage to sterling.
