FAULTY EARTH WIRE
A BOY ELECTROCUTED . INSTANTANEOUS DEATH [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 26. Through grasping a faulty earth wire to a radio set while playing under a house at Manukau Road, Jack Dormer, aged 10, son of Mr R. ' Dormer, of One Tree Hill, was electrocuted and died instantaneously. Several boys were playing together ; when the accident occurred. Appar- ■ ently deceased's hand came in con- ’ tract with the wire, as it bore signs of burning when he was dragged ’ from beneath Ihe house and examined by a doctor, who pronounced life ex- , tinct. In his opinion death was ini stantaneous. . , Officers of the Auckland Electnc- , Power Board were summoned to in- ; spect the wire, which was found to be i charged with electricity. This is believed to have been due to a faulty connection in an adaptor feeding the I radio set, which was also alive. The current was considered to be suffici--5 ent to cause
