FALSE RUMOURS
JAPAN AND GERMANY OFFICIAL STATEMENT TOKJO, Nov. 24. “False rumours and misunderstandings” is a Foreign Office spokesman's description of the foreign Press comments on the reported German-Japan-ese alliance. He added that these rumours would shortly be dispelled. Japan was anxious to reach an understanding with all of the Powers. He pointed out that negotiations were proceeding at Nanking for Sino-Japanese agreement to combat Communistic activities, but he had no knowledge of negotiations with other Powers. He explicitly denied an agreement with Japan and Italy.
