CLERICAL DISPUTE
DECISION RESERVED 1 Per Prets Association. 1 WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. A dispute between the clerical workers of Wellington and the manufacturers was heard this morning and the decision was reserved. One of the chief points is that the employers’ claim that this section of the clerks should come under the Factories Act. It was also claimed that the general level of ability required in a commercial office was much higher than the level required in a manufacturer’s office, and consequently the manufacturer should not be required to pay the same wac-as.
