Mr. D. Wilshere, a director of a Manchester textile firm, arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi on Monday on a business visit to New Zealand. Mr. D. Henry, president, of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association, returned to Auckland by the Maunganui on Monday after a holiday visit to Australia. Mr. 11. F. Norman, of Wellington, general passenger manager of the Union Steam Ship Company, returned to Auckland by the Aorangi on Monday from a visit to Canada. He was accompanied by Mrs. Norman. The Rev. A. S. Moffatt, of Christchurch, arrived at Auckland on Monday, after two years’ absence from the Dominion. Mr. Moffatt, who was accompanied by Mrs. Moffatt, has been in England, where he did relieving work in churches. Dr. Norman L. Edson, a son of the late Mr. P. Edson, of Auckland, returned from England by the Aorangi on Monday to take a lectureship in bio-chemistry at the University of Otago. Dr. Edson is an Otago graduate and served on the university staff prior to going to Cambridge University early in 1934. At Cambridge he was awarded a Beit Memorial Fellowship for Medical Research, and also secured the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. He will take up his new position at the beginning of the 1937 university session.
