Mrs D. Hall, Heretaunga, is staying with Mrs Nowell Izard, St. John's Hill. Mrs Rene Christmas, of Tokaanu, is spending a holiday in Wanganui as the guest of Mrs E. H. Poynter, Durie Hill. Sister L. Rule, who has been spending a holiday in Wanganui, left on Monday for Feilding. Mr and Mrs F. M. Bull and Miss Mary Bull, of Gisborne, who visited Wanganui for the East—Westwood wedding, were the guests of Mr and Mrs B. Woods, St. John’s Hill. Mrs Maxey left Wanganui yesterday for Auckland, where she will reside for a short time before proceeding to England. Mrs. M. J. Gemmell and Miss Gemmell, of Wairoa, who have been visiting Wanganui, have returned. Mrs. F. Redpath, of Christchurch who has been visiting Mission Bay, is at present in Wanganui as the guest of her brother, Dr. Anderson. A presentation of a beautiful silver entree dish, suitably inscribed, was made to Miss Eva Parkinson, by the ! Wanganui Aero Club recently, in view of her approaching marriage. Visitors to Wanganui for the East— Westwood wedding during the weekend included Mrs V. East (Wellingtotn), Mr Ivan East (Waipukurau), and Mrs W. A. Wright (Motu, Gis- ’ borne), who were the guests of Mr and Mrs B. Westwood, Keith Street; Mr, Mrs, and Master Lewis (Hawera), who stayed with Mr and Mrs Tarrant, Patapu Street: Mrs George Capper, who was the guest of Mrs Ross, Nixon Street. Messrs S. C. East, B. Massey (Masterton), L. McWhinnie (Wellington) were the guests of Mrs F. Garth, Liverpool Street. Miss Stella Murray has returned from France at the conclusion of her restful holiday in the Chateaux district of the Loire, where she stayed with friends, states a London correspondent. She was there during August and then went to Switzerland to join a schoolgirl friend and bring her back to England. Miss Murray greatly enjoys dispensing hospitality. This week she entertained more than 50 visiting New Zealanders to afternoon ■ tea at her South Kensington home, I * her chief guests being Lady Sinclair I Lockhart, of Auckland, and Mrs H. D. I Robertson, of Wanganui. At the end I of 1937, Miss Murray hopes to pay I janother visit to New Zealand primar11ily for a concert tour, but also to see ■ her friends.
