MANAWATU ASSOCIATION SEPTEMBER RETURNS The Manawatu Co-operative HerdTesting Association reports upon testing carried out in the immediate Wanganui district as follows: Group Averages. Wangaehu.—33s cows; average 741 lb. milk, 341 b. fat. Fordell.— 237 cows; average 7301 b milk, 351 b. fat. Makirikiri-0k0ia.—327 cows; average 6741 b. milk, 301 b. fat. Westmere - Rapanui. 320 cows; average 7331 b. milk, 341 b. iat. Brunswick-Kai Iwi. 428 cows; average 6851 b. milk, 321 b. fat. The highest group in the association was that of Koputaroa, wherein 208 cows averaged 7821 b. milk, 361 b. fat. Heid Averages. The highest herds in the local groups were as follows: Wangaehu—s3 cows; average 1151 lb. milk, 461 b. fat. Fordell. —4 cows; average 10271 b. milk, 581 b. fat. Makirikiri-Okoai.—2o cows; average 7681 b. milk, 371 b. fat. Westmere-Rapanui.—32 cows; average 10421 b. milk; 481 b. fat. Brunswick-Kai Iwi.--10 cows; average 8701 b. milk, 431 b. fat. The highest herd in the association, was one in the Fordell group wherein 4 cows averaged 10271 b. milk and 581 b. fat. Cow Averages. The highest cows in the local groups were as follow: Wangaehu.—72l b. fat. Fordell. —761 b. fat. Makirikiri-Okoia.—s3lb. fat. Westmere-Rapanui.—73lb. fat. Brunswick-Kai Iwi.—7Blb. fat. The highest cow in the association was one in the Weraroa-Ohau group which produced 12901 b. milk, 7.2 test, and 931 b. fat The association tested in all 11,849 cows, the average cow producing 728 lb. milk and 33.161 b. fat.
