FARMERS AND STRIKERS TROUBLE IN FRANCE CHARTRES, Oct. 16. One person was killed and 30 inured in clashes between beet growers md sugar factory workers. After the itrike of 900 sugarmen, 1500 farmers issembled at the Town Hall to hear i speech by the prefect, when a profession of strikers, carrying red flags, -evolvers, and other weapons, approached. In the ensuing clash one 'armer was shot dead and another seriously injured and sent to hospital.
