Dr. Schuschnigg (Chancellor) announced that Austria would hold a plebiscite on the restoration of the monarchy at the proper time. He added that the Legitimist movement was legal. He had not promised Germany that he would not permit the restoration of the Hapsburgs as this was purely an internal matter. No devaluation of the schilling was contemplated. Dr. Schuschnigg thanked Prince von Starhemberg and the Heimwe.hr for their assistance in rebuilding Austria but he delivered another blow to von Starhemberg by announcing Herr Baarenfels was resigning command of the militia, in which the Heimwehr had been merged, and would be replaced by Field-Marshall Hulgerth. It was known that von Starhemberg had hoped for 1 his appointment.
