CHRISTIAN CONVENTION
ON ENGLISH "KESWICK” LINES In a little country town in England called Keswick, once a year Christians of all denominations gather from near and far for a convention. The convention lasts a week and aims at the deepening of the spiritual lives of those who attend. Noted preachers of all denominations are invited to take the platform, and a time of rare spiritual uplift is invariably enjoyed by all. The Keswick type of teaching, which stands firmly for the evangelical faith and the deepening of the spiritual life, has gradually permeated the world and to-day “Keswick” conventions are held in every land, m New Zealand the movement has come to stay and in different parts of the country at different times of the year “Keswick” conventions are held. Recognising Palmerston North as a centre of present great and future potential importance, leaders of spiritual thought in this country urged upon the evangelical churches of Palmerston North the desirability of starting a convention here, looking 1 forward to the time when it would become a recognised institution of the town. The suggestion was acted upon and for two years past now, Keswick convention has been held In this town. Another opportunity will be afforded all Christians to attend the third one of its kind in Palmerston North, to be held in the Empire Hall, Princess Street, commencing at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, the 24th. inst., and continuing over the week-end.
Mr J. O. Sanders, of the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, and Mr w. J. Mains, both of Auckland, and outstanding men on Keswick teaching, will be the speakers. A rich time of blessing is expected, so come and join in and share the good time.
