NATIVE BUSH

PRESERVATION DESIRED CONFERENCE PROPOSED [Per Preis Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 13. It is reported that an inter-Depart-mental Conference of executive heads, dealing with local government, forestry, lands, and agriculture, will shortly be held in Wellington to plan a scheme for native bush preservation and planting the Dominion highways with trees. New Zealand’s centennial, which is three years distant, is said to have given the project impetus. When aproached to-day, the Hon. W. E. Parry said that he was not yet able to give particulars of what was proposed, but he could say that the Government was sincere in its desire to see the native bush preserved for the people.
