EX-VICE-REGAL SECRETARY VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND LONDON, Sept. 19. Arriving in Auckland shortly by the Orion, Lord and Lady Waleran will spend two months of their round-the-world honeymoon tour travelling in the Dominion, states a London correspondent. Lord Waleran, who was on the Government House staff for three years (1927-30), will meet I many former friends, while his at- I tractive young wife will be making I new contacts. the 12 spaniel puppies on view at one end of the lawn came in tor much admiration. Lord Waleran is the eldest son of the late the Hon. Lionel Walrond, M.P., and the Hon. Mrs H. W. A. Adams, of Bradfield, Willand, Devonshire. At the reception the bride wore a very charming dress of warm parch-ment-tinted satin beaute, the yoke being formed of a vari-coloured motif of paillettes in pink, blue and lavender, with a veiled toque of ruched cire ribbon. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and orchids. Miss Barbara Green was in a dress of matt parchment-tinted chiffon, with hat to tone and a spray of roses. The health of the young couple was proposed by Mr C. Doughty, K.C. The several hundred guests were interested to inspect the choice presents which required two rooms for their display. Lord Waleran gave the bride a lilted dressing case, and she gave him a gold cigarette case. Lady Carr gave her daughter household linen, a double silver fox tie, a pearl chain and pendant, a summer ermine coat and muff and an antelope and jade-

mounted bag. Sir Erhsley Carr's gifts included a cheque, diamond brooch, diamond ring. The Hon. Mrs Adams gave a diamond mounted topaz pendant and earrings, end to her son she gave a cheque and a gold wristlet watch. Sir Emsley and Lady Carr sent the bridegroom a cabinet of cigars. Guests invited included New Zealand friends, among whom were: Sir Henry and Lady Horton, Mr and Mrs Leslie Harris, Lady Myers, Mr and Mrs J. St. B. Barclay. Lord and Lady Waleran will reside in London.
