PIGEON RACING
WANGANUI CLUB RA.CE FROM WAIPARA During the week-end th* Wanganui Pigeon Flying Club held a race from Waipara (South Island), an airline distance of 250 miles. Thirty-six birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 8 a.m. on Sunday and covered the distance to Wanganui in 6hr. 16min. Results were as follow: H. J. Eaton, 1171.2yd5. a min. 1 J. Dow, 1170.5yd5. a min 2 D. Robb, 1170.04yd5. a min. 3 E. A. Carveil, 1166.8yd5. a mln. 4 R. Roskruge, 1157.1ya5. a mln 5 C. Willacy, 1110.6yds, a nun 6 A. Watson, 1020.0yds. a m:B 7 On Thursday evening the club will hamper for a flock race from Auckland and on Friday for a yearling interval race from Wellington. - rj
