Mr W. W. Mulholland, Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, will visit Wanganui on October 21 and will deliver an address to farmers. At. a meeting of the Wanganui Presbytery on Tuesday, the Rev. W. H. Howes, 8.A., of Otautau, was unanimously nominated as Moderator of the General Assembly for 1937. Lieutenant K. 11. J. L. Phibbs is in command of the Imperial minesweeper, H.M.S. Wakakura, which arrived yesterday from Wellington and New Plymouth. He has with him as second in command, Mr. D. E. WriglE, Gunner (T.) Mr. Doug. McKenzie has been appointed stock agent in the Waverlev district for Messrs. Newton King, Ltd. Mr. McKenzie gained his experience in the Fielding district, where he was engaged, prior to joining, three months ago, the stock department of the Hawera branch of Nwton King, Ltd. The Director-General of Australian Postal Services, Mr H. P. Brown, was a visitor lo Wanganui on Tuesday. Mr Brown was a member of the Australian delegation which has been discussing air mail problems with the Dominion Government. Mr Brown, accompanied by his wife, left in the afternoon for New Plymouth. They will sail for Sydney to-day by the Wanganella, which leaves from Auckland.
