McCABE'S GESTURE GIVES WAY TO RICHARDSON TESTIMONIAL XI. CAPTAIN SYDNEY, Sept. 22. V. Richardson will lead one of the teams in the Bardsley-Gregory testimonial match which is to be played next month. The New South Wales Cricket Association has accepted McCabe’s resignation as captain of his side, which will now become Richardson’s team. McCabe sent a letter to the association in which he pointed out that Richardson had been a wonderful player for Australia, and that the public and the players would appreciate it if he led the team. The personnel of the teams for the match, which is to be played at Sydney on October 9, 10, 12, and 13, is as follows: McCabe's Team.—McCabe, Brown. Chipperfield, Darling, Fingleton, Fleet-wood-Smith, Grimmett, McCormick, Oldfield, O’Reilly, and Richardson. Bradman’s Team.—Bradman, Badcock, Ebeling, Leather, McGilvray, Morrisby, O’Brien, Robinson, Tallon, Ward, and White.
