t , FIRST-DAY POSTINGS j The interest taken in the issue of stamps commemorating the first meeting in New Zealand of the Federated Chambers of Commerce of the British Empire has caused the Post. Office to make special arrangements for the first-day postings of correspondence that will no doubt he made on October 1 at the Congress Post Office in Wellington. No official first-cover envelopes are being issued, but collectors may arrange for first-day postings at the special office by forwarding addressed envelopes with remittance and instructions to the Director-General. G.P.0.. Wellington (stamps branch’ to reach him prior to the end of September. The Congress Post Office will be opened in the Town Hall, Wellington. at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 1 lhe dale on which the stamps—of -l<d, Id. 2id. 4d and 6d denominations—will be first issued, and the office datestamp will indicate th? special nature of the occasion by incorporating the wording “Empire Conference. Chambers nf Commerce. Wellington, N.Z."
