Tn thP evenin? twilight. about 6 o'clock, the planets Mercury and Venus are nrominentlv visible at present. On Thursday of last week they were at eoual heights above the western horizon. Venus being the brighter of the two and lying on the righthand side. The proximity of the two nlanets affords an opportunity for identifying Mercury, generally so faint and close to the sun as to remain hidden from observation by the unaided eye.
