STRUCK A REEF

MATUA DAMAGED MISHAP AT AITUTAKI [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. The Union Company’s Matua when ’caving Aitutaki at 8 o’clock last night struck a reef and received slight damage to her rudder and port propeller. The vessel is proceeding to Rarotonga to land native labour, and will then go direct to Auckland under her own power. It is understood that she will be docked at Auckland.
