AMBROSE PALMER MAY VISIT DOMINION FINISH FOOTBALL FIRST MELBOURNE, Sept. 15. Ambrose Palmer, the Australian heavyweight, boxer, has received an offer from New Zealand for a series of contests. Palmer says that though the offer is not tempting he might give it consideration after he has finished playing football. TITLE RETAINED HENNEBERRY BEATS JONES SYDNEY, Sept. 14. At the Stadium to-night Fred Henneberry, 1.1.4, retained the middleweight title when he knocked out the American negro Tommy Jones, 10.11, in the ninth round. The latter was severely harraicapped by an injured hand from the second round onwards.
