CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES

'•Substance” was the subject of the Leson-sermon in all Churches o Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, September 13. The Golden Text was Hebrews 11:1. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-sermon were the following from the Bible: "For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. For He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” (Psalms 33:4, 6,9.) Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." by Mary Baker Eddy: "The substance, life intelligence, truth and love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation; and when we subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere. There is no life, truth, inI telligcnce, nor substance in matter. I All is infinite mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is all-ia-ail.” (pp. 516,468.)
