SHEEP-STEALING

SOUTHLAND COMP.'.NTS LOSS REWARD OF £lOO OFFERED I Fer Pres, Associa .:or. ( INVERCARGILL, Aug. 28 When lhe sheep on the Southland Frozen Meat Company's experimental farm at Glencoe were rounded up, the discovery was made that 164 Romney ewe hoggets were missing. Stock had been taken at the end of June and the conclusion was reached that the missing sheep had been stolen. Exhaustive ’inquiries have been made and the company is now offering a reward of £lOO for information leading to the arrest of the thieves. The opinion is held that the thefts have been the work of an organised party rather than of individual thieves.
