ALLEGED THEFT
SALESMAN CHARGED EXTRADITION ORDER MADE SYDNEY, Aug. 28. William Wallace McClelland, aged n 52, salesman, was charged by war- g rant at the Central Police Court with having stolen on May 8, at Cheviot, New Zealand, £450 in money, the property of John Graham MacPherson. “MacPherson knew I was coming to Australia to try to adjust matters,” said McClelland, according to allegations made by Constable Miller. “I left scrip for shares in Raddon’s, Limited, Christchurch, valued at £lOOO at par as security against the £450 I had collected from MacPherson. The money collected from MacPherson was for shares in Walder Shoes, Limited, Melbourne.” Constable McKenzie, of Christchurch, is asking for an extradition order for the return of McClelland to f New Zealand, stated: “The shares f worth £lOOO at par might be worth r £lOOO, or they might be worth £5.” s The magistrate ordered the return e of McClelland to Christchurch, and a that he be taken in the custody of s Constable McKenzie.
