LABOUR EXPULSIONS

MR. J. GARDEN’S COMMENT Received Aug. 26, 11.20 p.m. ADELAIDE, Aug. 26. Mr. J. Garden, M.P., who was expelled from the New South Wales Labour Party, commented on last week-end’s additional expulsions by the executive in Sydney. He said that Mr. Lang and his henchmen were taking their last leap. -Some of the men just expelled had been union secretaries for over 30 years and it was not likely that they would go down without a fight. Mr. Lang was gradually losing support. Events were now favouring the unions which were the backbone of Labour’s political move-, ment, but three months must elapse before the position could be properly clarified. By that time the new directors would have control of the Labour newspaper.
