WANGANUI LADIES’ CLUB BOGEY MATCH PLAYED. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. A bogey match was played by the Wanganui Ladies’ Golt Club yesterday, with the following results:— A Grade.—Mrs Young, 6 down. »B Grade.—Miss Strouts, 3 down. C Grade. —Mrs. H. Collins, 6 down.
In making the backswing, a fuller measure of body turn is often achieved by pressing upward from the ball and toes of the left foot. Used in conjunction with the straight left arm. the body turns easily and naturally. At the top of the swing this body pivot has created a degree of firmness in the left side. This proves an advantage later on the downswing for it provides the player with the feeling that there is something solid that he may hit against and the clubhead gains increasing power as it descends. However any feeling that the upward pressure of the foot is pushing the left shoulder out of place should be avoided. This would immediately slacken the bowstring feeling of the left side.
