METHODIST CHURCH

PAHIATUA ANNIVERSARY (Per Presa Association] PAHIATUA, Aug. 25. The fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of Methodism is being celebrated in Pahiatua this week, and a series of functions are being carried out, attended by pioneers of the church. The local church authorities have built a Sunday School hall in honour of the event. The official opening was made by the Rev. E. P. Blamires, president of the conference, his inspiring address being attentively heard by a congregation composed of all denominations. Mr. C. M. Roberts, local preacher, hopes to raise sufficient funds during the celebrations to clear the building of debt, and judging by the response, there is every reason to believe that it will be accomplished.
