The News-Chronicle’s special corre- i spondent announces that 60 Galla ; chiefs from Abyssinia, representing 2,000,000 people in the area untrodden ■ by Italians, have appealed to Britain j to accept a mandate over 50,000 ] square miles of the western area. h Captain Erskine, British Consul at ( Gore, forwarded the appeal to the , Foreign Office, which replied eva- ■ sively to the chiefs. Meanwhile, Ras ( Imru, aided by Joseph and Benjamin, sons of Dr. Martin, ex-Abyssinian Minister in London, is conducting an , orderly Government in the Galla country.
