PLANS FOR NEW BUILDING WOODEN STRICTURE REMAINS Plans for tnc elgln-storeyed building on the Maginnity Street site to house Government Departments have been completed hy the Government architect, Mr. John Mair. The new building will have a frontage of 198 feet to Stout Street (where the main entrance will be), 148 feet to Ballance Street, and 99 feet to Maginnity St. It should be explained that the new building is not intended to replace the wooden Government Buildings on Lampton Quay. It is being erected in order to relieve the congestion that has been experienced for some years past by Government departments. which have had to rent premises in various parts of the city. It is anticipated that the new building the present wooden building, and the railway station building will be sufficient to house all Cr ' vor nment departments.
