Mrs. Russell Grace, “Arles,” returned to Wanganui yesterday from Christchurch. * * * ¥ Mr. and Mrs. H. Cuming were Wanganui visitors to Wellington this week. Mrs. R. W. Lee and Miss Lee, Wanganui, were recent visitors to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. E. Whyte, Wellington, were visitors to Wanganui yesterday. * * * ¥ Mrs. F. Cunningham will motor to Wellington to-day. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Walfenden, Waipukura, are visitors to Wanganui. Mrs. Jones Mitchell, Christchurch, who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. H. S. McCullough, Durie Hill, left last night for Auckland. x Miss L. Adams, Selwyn Street, left yesterday for Wellington on a visit to her sister, Mrs. Hall, Lower Hutt. Mrs. I. Saunders, who has been visiting Mrp. Grumitt, Ingestre Street, has returned to Wellington. • « • » Mrs. F. K. Turnbull has returned to her home in Bell Street, after a holiday of several weeks spent with her mother, Mrs. H. Bayly, Auckland. Mrs. F. Webb-Jones and her daughter, Mrs. G. Hardy, of Gonville, left yesterday on a visit to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. lan Day, Master Day, and Mrs. Leo Thiele, of Christchurch, who were the guests of Mrs. P. On Thursday evening, in the W.D.F.U. rooms, an enjoyable “welcome home” party arranged by the library staff was given for Miss Blackett, the librarian, who recently returned from a trip to England. The evening took the form of a dance, the many guests present spending a pleasant time. During supper, the Mayor (Mr. W. J. Rogers), in a brief speech welcomed home the guest, of honour. Mr. G. The members of the Westmere Rifle Club held a successful dance on Thursday evening in the Westmere Hall. Mr. F. Laird was a popular M.C., and the evening proceeded merrily from start to finish. A much-ap-preciated tap dance was given by Miss B. Burke and Mr. W. Jordan and they were doubly encored, giving a waltz tap and an extra tap dance. The winners of the Monte Carlo were Miss A.
