Ladies’ Hockey Club Dance. In aid of the Kauangaroa Ladies' Hockey Club a dance will be held in the Kauangaroa Tall to-morrow (Saturday). The programme will feature exhibition dancing by Mr. B. Nixon and partner, also Monte Carlos. A ’bus leaves Rutland corner at 7.30 p.m. St. John Ambulance Brigade. The Gonville Nursing Division held their monthly competition on Tuesday, which proved very interesting. The successful competitor was Ambulance Sister Lucy Gordon, who gave an excellent exhibition in rendering first aid to a patient suffering from a dislocated elbow and severe wound on the head. Making correct use of a bystander gained many marks which helped greatly towards success. Mrs. Day judged the work and afterwards explained where points were lost or gained. During the evening Miss Sumsion, lady divisional superintendent, presented to the division two framed photographs, one of His Majesty the King and the successful squad who won the cup for first aid at the district competitions last Easter. Victoria League Bridge Party. A fourteen-table bridge party arranged by the Victoria League bridge committee and held in the Lady Jellicoe Club last evening proved most enjoyable.
