DELIGHTFUL PROGRAMME
BY JOAN AND BETTY RAYNOR. On Monday night at Nga Tawa Girls’ School (Marton), a large audience found delightful stimulation for imagination in the programme presented by the world-famous troubadours, Misses Joan and Betty Raynor. Many simplet folk songs, tales and ballads collected on the recent world tour of this charming pair were artistically arranged to create the desired atmosphere, enjoyment being intensified by the ability of the performers to establish an intimate contact with their audience and their evident pleasure in the doing. Although these talented artists are only making a short stay in New Zealand before leaving for America, they have gained for themselves a host of admirers, as well as renewing acquaintance with many old friends who will wish them “bon voyage” and a speedy return to these shores.
