Mrs. D. A. Lilburne, Wanganui East, is at present in Dunedin and is staying with Miss Lilburne. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Whiteman were Wanganui visitors to Wellington this week. Miss M. Milson is a Christchurch visitor to Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. T. Waite, Wanganui, who have been spending a holiday in the South Island, have returned. Miss Joan Harrison, who is on vacation from the Stewart Karitane Hospital, is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Harrison, Hastings. Mr. and Mrs. J. Dickenson, of Cambridge, paid a visit to Wanganui this week. Mrs. H. E. Keating, Auckland, who ■ was the guest of Mrs. C. C. Smith, Gonville, has returned. Mrs. Harold Bull, of Puketutu Island, and Mrs. Frank Bull, of Mangare, who have been visiting Wanganui, have returned home. Mrs. Jack Bond, Wanganui, is on a visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Newton Broad, Feilding. Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Boyle, Christchurch, were visitors to Wanganui this week. * * * # Lady Angela Dawnay returned to Auckland from Suva on Monday by the Aorangi. Mrs. J. D. H. Buchanan, Hcreworth School, Havelock North, and Mrs. Richard, of Napier, are on a holiday trip to Wanganui. Miss N. Spowart, of Scotland, who has been visiting friends in New Zealand, and staying with relatives in Wanganui, leaves to-day on the first stages of her return trip to England. Visitors to the Friends’ School last week were Miss Backhouse and Miss Ackerley, of England. For some years Miss Backhouse has been on the staff at Westhill Training College, Selly Oak, Birmingham, and is now travelling slowly round the world visiting her old students. She has spent some time at various schools and educational institutions in India, China, Japan and Australia and returns home via U.S.A.
