AFRICAN COLONIES

QUESTION IN COMMONS ERRONEOUS REPORT [British Official Wireless] RUGBY, July 29. In the House of Commons Mr. G. Mander questioned the Prime Minister regarding the plan disclosed by Mr. Pirow (South African Minister of Defence) and placed by him before the British Government when in London, for European Powers with African possessions each to give a portion in order to make room for Germany, and asked whether any of the Powers in question had been approached or had signified the willingness to enter into such arrangement under any circumstances. Mr. Baldwin replied that no such plan had been communicated to the Government nor, so far as he was aware, to any other Government. The second part of the question did not therefore arise.
