COUNTRY WOMEN OF THE WORLD

CONFERENCE AT WASHINGTON Letters received from delegates that have been attending the triennial meeting of the Associated Country Women of the World, held at Washington, speak in glowing terms of the wonderful experience it has been. Proceedings have been very interesting and the attendance of upwards of seven thousand was an inspiration to all. The delegates have been most hospitably entertained, in fact it has been impossible to do all that was planned for them. One of the p’laces visited was Niagara Falls. “It was a marvellous meeting, and to see the delegates arriving in groups of two to three hundred was thrilling,” stated one writer in her letter. All seem greatly impressed with the conference and particularly with the fact, that the world over, the aims of country women seem to be similar. Speakers told about conditions in their country and the work done by the women in the backblock and rural districts. Because they spoke of the home life and of the child and of women’s work in general the talks were of an intimate character. Many matters of great interest to women were discussed. There was a wonderful spirit of good fellowship among the delegates who soon began to know each other. In the big things of life the women were one, and the unity of aims and ideals and experiences of women the world over, are similar.
