An anti-cyclone of considerable intensity extends from f Eastern Australia across the Tasman Sea. t Forecast. —Winds: Light and variable at first over the North I Island, moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly in the South t Island’ and extending soon over the whole Dominion and freshening somewhat. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough south of East Cape and in Cook Strait; elsewhere, slight to moderate; Eastern Tasman Sea: moderate to fresh southerly winds and rather rough seas. Weather: Mainly fair to fine in western districts from Q Taranaki southwards; elsewhere, cloudy to overcast and, in places, v misty or foggy, with intermittent but chiefly light rain; improving t to-morrow except between Cape Palliser and the East Cape; Temperatures cold. j.
