RANGITIKEI HUNT

STEEPLECHASE MEETING The Rangitikei Hunt Club’s steeplechase meeting is set down for Wednesday, July 22, on the Alarton Racecourse. The Rangitikei Hunt Cup Steeplechase, of £lOO. including £l5 15s trophy, presented by Airs. A. T. Gatrell, is for qualified hunters, the distance being two miles and a-half. The opening race, the Riddiford Steeplechase of two miles and a distance, is for qualified hunters that have never won a steeplechase or any other race to the value of £25 for the past three years at a totalisator meeting and not trained by a licensed trainer. The remaining event for hunters is the Otairi Ladies’ Bracelet Handicap, gentlemen riders, minimum weight 11.0, one mile and a-quarter. The rest of the programme Consists of a maiden race for two-year-olds and upwards, five furlongs. two hack sprints, and a hack hurdles, the journey being a mile and a-half.
