MAJESTIC THEATRE

“THE STORY OF LOUIS PASTEUR” Every man, woman and child should see “Tih-e Story of Louis Pasteur” which commenced yesterday at the Majestic Theatre. Not only is it. of vital interest to everyone, but it represents a rare entertainment, beautifully handled and acted with sincerity by Paul Muni. It is little wonder that Muni won the Motion Picture Academy’s second award for his role in this picture, even being ranked above Charles Laughton for his Captain Bligh in “Mutiny on the Bounty.'’ Writing m the Sydney Bun, Mr. F? E. Baume said of “Louis Pasteur’’;— Warner Bros., to whom I bow at this moment profoundly for their wisdom in assuming that the hemisphere are not composed entirely of half-wits, confident of the appeal of something better in motion pictures, have presented another film which will remain in the memories of the public as a thoughful drama brilliantly and sincerely acted. !It could never offend public intelli- , gence. This Pasteur film grips the audience with enormous emotional force. The unparalleled simplicity of its realism brings to audiences that scuse of personal touch.’’ High praise indeed from one who is known as “The Carping Critic,” but fully deserving of every word written is “The Story of Louis Pasteur.” Possibly one of the most electric moments the screen has ever shown is when Pasteur has to choose between the fate of his own daughter and that of generations unborn. Muni is supported by Josephine Hutchison, Anita Louis and Donald Woods.
