ELECTRIC-POWER SUPPLY MINISTER’S INTENTION [ Per Press Association 7 CHRISTCHURCH, June 19. The administration of electric- • power supply will be investigated ’ by the Minister of Public Works, Hon. R. Semple, during the next j Parliamentary recess, according to I a statement made by him to-day. “It is another public service calling for reform, and prettv drastic reform a* that,” said the Minister. “I intend tn go fully into the matter with a view to creating a better form of control than operates at present. It is both cumbersome and costly. All over the country there are quarrels among local supply authorities, power boards and the Government. I am not prepared to say at the moment how it can best be tackled, but in the interests of the consuming public it has to be tackled and the sooner the better. I air. satisfied that there are too many power boards with too little to do and zr.-r.nt nnet All this TlPpdlPfiS
at too groat cost. All this needless cost is passed on to the consuming public.’ ’
