REGENT THEATRE

•’LITTLE LORD FAUNTLEROY” Entertainment for the entire family is to be found in “Little Lord Fauntleroy,” which will be screened finally to-morrow at the Regent Theatre, in recognition of this the film has been awarded the Parents* Magazine Medal for the year, a notable triumph for the director, the producer, and the cast. “Little Lord Fauntleroy’- shows this skill brought to a higher pitch. To the cast, also, full credit must be given. Freddie Bartholomew impresses greatly as the American boy Cedriek. and Dolores Costello Barrymore is equally good as his mother. C. A ibrey Smith, Henry Stephenson, Una O’Connor and Mickey Rooney fill the minor roles. ‘ ‘Thoroughbred” The successful drama ot Australian horse-racing, “Thoroughbred, ; which enjoyed an excellent season at Wellington, will commence to-morrow (Friday) night at a late shoppers* session at the Regent Theatre. There have been many dramas of the tu r f, and their plots necessarily have ha J rnuv-h in common; but “Thoroughbred,” by reason of its Australian background, has a refreshing angle. It is the story of the rise to champion class of a New Zealand horse, Stormalong, despite many attempts to disable *t bv foreign speculators trying to trade on its popularity. The cast is headed by the American, Helen Twelvetrees, and although she dominates the remainder of the player? she by no means dwarfs them. The Taihape actress. Elaine Hamill, plays a small part with fine restraint. There is an excellent supporting programme.
