SANDON PUBLIC HALL MEETING HELD EOli REBUILDING SCHEME Air. H. J. Fagan presided over a representative meeting in the Wandon Town Hall on* Tuesday night in connection with the inauguration of a luiij for the re-building uf the hall at some future date. Delegates were present from the following clubs and organisations: Basketball Club, Football Clu-b, Rifle Club, Tabic Tennis Club, Tennis Club, local branch of the Labour Party, scboc-J committee and the Old Boys 7 Association. Apologies were received from Alessrs. J. 11. Perrett (chairman of tire Park Board), and W. E. Pearce (member of the Park Board), and the Sandon Women’s Institute. Air. Fagan, who was elected to the chair, said that the Park Board hud not; sufficient revenue for the rebuilding of a hall, but were prepared to subsidise any money raised for such purpose up to £25 per annum. “Any effort to raise funds would have to come under the jurisdiction of the board.’ 7 said Air. Fagan. Th-e chairman then called for suggestions from the meeting. Air. D. Hammond, representing the Football Club, said there was no time Like the present and he could assure the chairman that his club would assist any project. Air. E. J. Bowater said that the tune was well past when a start should have been made and to give he moved the following resolution;' “That a committee be set up to work in conjunction with the Park Board tu discuss ways and means of raising money for the re-building of the hall.’ Carried. After a further discussion it was decided that the delegates present report back to their club and ask tnat each organisation nominate a delegate to the committee, and that the names be handed to the secretary to the Park Board as roon as possible so that a further meeting could be held at an early date.
