I h SURPRISE PARTY A prise party of approximately 30, including relatives and friends, paid a visit to the home of Mrs E. Henson, “Beaumont,” Sanson, on Thursday night to welcome home Mis-: E Henson on her return f rom a holiday spent on the Hawaiian Island. Cheery log fires in the spacious living room added to the warmth of the welcome. During the evening Miss Henson related many interesting stories of her trip and a pleasant euchre tournament - was thoroughly enjoyed by the large number present. The winners were: Ladies, Miss D. Matthews, after a playoff with Mrs W. Young; consolation, Miss D. Young. Men, Mr L. Matthews, a X N PERSONAL * The many friends of the Rev. R. E. j A and Airs Fordyce will regret to learn that their son George and daughter are both inmates of the Palmerston North 11 Public Hospital. Mr and Mrs J. C. Fagan have returned from a motor tour of the north. Messrs Ken and Peter Pearce and Keith Henson have returned from a f motor tour of the North Island. Mr E. Dwyer returned during the week from a visit to Auckland. , F Mr E. J. Davey’s many frends will be pleased to learn that he is suffici- A ently wet’ to resume work.
