Duxfield, presi- [ dent, presided over a good attendar.ee I of members and friends. A silent vote of sympathy was. passed with Mrs. Hussey and family, in ihv passing away of Mr. J. C. Hussey, who was always a staunch supporter of those who stand for the abolition of the traffic in strong drink. Greetings were personally given bj Mrs. Angus Wright (Raetihi) who represented the Maori Union lately organised in that district. Mrs. N. Lynch, treasurer, gave her report, which showed a small credit balance. {Several departments of work were allocated, viz.: Backblocks, Nurse Middle; evangelistic, notable •lays and education bureau, Mrs. 1. Upton; Baud of Hope, Mrs. H. Al. Grinstead; school of methods, Airs. A. I 11. Duxfield; ower mission and philanthropic work, Mrs. A. Morrison; White Ribbon, Supt. Airs. Heathey. ] The president gave a very interesting account of a visit to the Blind Institute (Auckland) by 22 members of ! the Dominion Convention. It was announced that the time for closing of mandate for world disarmament had been extended till the end of June. All who have petition forms are asked to kindly note. The next meeting will be ’held on May 7, when Mrs. Beggs, delegate Io the Dominion Convention, will give her Mesdames A. Morrison and Sutton were hostesses, and an interesting and helpful meeting closed with the pronouncing of the Benediction.
